Site Description

Boeing’s Starliner spacecraft landed in the deserts of White Sands Space Harbor in New Mexico at 12:01 am on Saturday. It autonomously undocked from the International Space Station at 6:04 pm ET on Friday, leaving behind its crew of astronauts Sunita Williams and Barry Wilmore.  NASA had earlier deemed the return flight too risky to carry humans, and so 'Suni' Williams and 'Butch' Wilmore are still at the ISS.  The gumdrop-shaped capsule made a gentle landing, with the parachutes slowing down its descent and the airbags providing it with a safe cushion.
